  • Serving as UBC’s Computer Science Student Society Vice President of Communications, I found joy in creating programming for Computer Science students. My friends from the executive council are intelligent, kind, and we all really care for the wellbeing of CS students; being able to take some time off from hardcore programming assignments all day is really awesome when we have a team of supportive classmates to bond with. This photo was taken from our year-end gala as we celebrated completing another year of school. Cheers to everyone who received incredible internships, graduated from UBC, or simply moved onto another stage of their life!

  • I absolutely loved working in residence at the student association, which ultimately led to myself being hired as a Residence Advisor this year at UBC. COVID-19 has made it a lot more difficult creating a community for our residents and keeping them safe, but we are all working hard to support our peers. Pictured here are my Residence Advisor friends who have also helped me throughout the pageant journey! Whether it be ideating for talent or practicing for interviews, I am so grateful for my RA friends who support me in every step of the way.

  • In my first two years I also was very involved in my university residence area where I served as an executive on the residence association and helped create a community for first year university students.

  • One of my goals upon entering into university was to get involved with my student government. Elected as the first year representative, I was able to represent 2000+ UBC Arts First Years in a 12000+ people faculty. The Arts Undergraduate Society represents the Arts student body at UBC and serves the students through social, academics, wellness, and philanthropic means. We organized events from dance socials to serving free ice cream to 800+ UBC students. This is my first year committee, a team of 16 lovely souls who helped in creating a sense of community and family within our faculty.

  • Built using programming language R and a Lego Mindstorm set, a line-follower robot was created by my classmate Erica and I in 3 weeks for our robotics course at Cambridge. Truly put my computer science skills and Erica's mathematical knowledge to test! We enjoyed our new pet and it was a fun time watching our robot actually work!

  • I somehow made it to the following year's promotional poster for the Cambridge PKP Summer Programme with my friends from National University of Singapore and from UCLA! A lovely memory keepsake indeed, when I received this poster in the mail....

  • I loved my exchange experience from my first year summer so much, I applied again to the UBC Go Global exchange program for my second year summer, and I was elated when I was accepted to Cambridge University in the UK! Growing up, I was a BIG fan of Harry Potter, and during this exchange experience I finally lived my Hogwarts dream and proudly sported my Cambridge - King’s College gear. The Cambridge Pembroke-King’s Programme is a 6-week program where students from around the world came, stayed, and studied at King’s and Pembroke Colleges of Cambridge University. I miss the mornings where we would grab beans, hash browns, and English ham at our majestic cafeteria in the traditional English architecture, and I miss my friends who would punt with me down the River Cam during stunning sunsets, and study with me at the historic libraries late at night.

  • For our final project in my music theory course at UC Berkeley, we collaborated with our classmates and sang in harmony, a fight song for UC Berkeley. As Stanford is our rival school, I could not stop laughing when I learned that the lyrics were "we are going to beat you Stanford". This was a fun break from my programming projects for my computer science course, and I really enjoyed this elective!

  • During the summer of my first year, I had the incredible opportunity to go on exchange with UBC’s Go Global program to UC Berkeley. I took a computer science course and a music theory course, and got to fully explore the Bay Area with my new friends. One of my favourite parts of this exchange program was meeting my professors and teaching assistants; they really ain’t bluffing about the quality of computer science instruction here at UC Berkeley! It was a tough course to get through but I have learned so much in a short two-months; all those hours grinding in the library was worth it.

  • Upon acceptance into UBC in 2016, I was honoured to have been the recipient of the $15000 Major Entrance Scholarship, awarded based on academics, extracurriculars, and community involvement in high school. This was our scholars welcoming ceremony, where the Burnaby district award recipients managed to get a quick snap with UBC’s President Santa Ono.

  • 姥姥的作品是妈妈,妈妈的作品是我,我的作品是“姥姥”。For one of my college Visual Art projects where we were asked to draw a portrait, I used pencil and charcoal to draw my grandma. Every line was drawn with love as my grandma means so much to me, as she is the one who accompanied me through all my extracurricular classes and helped me with all my school homework growing up.

  • 大学开始,每年都和妈妈一起参加这个活动。I have participated with my mom for 4 consecutive years at the Vancouver Run for Women, where the funds raised from this 5k & 10k run goes to the BC Women’s Health Foundation. I first heard about this run because I had the chance to volunteer here when I was in high school. My life mission is to live a healthy and active lifestyle and, through participating and volunteering for 5k & 10k runs, I have found joy in these community active fundraisers, as it is for a good cause and it is so much fun to explore the views of a different part of Vancouver! Plus, I got to spend the morning running with my mommy through the scenic southern section of UBC campus. We would always be greeted by my dad and my puppies at the finish line, and would get a big meal together after the event!

  • From high school to now, every other weekend I would like to take some time to volunteer for local non-profits. With my friends Anne and Shawna, we volunteered for the Surrey Food Bank, serving food portions to help the community. I met Anne and Shawna through competing in a different pageant when I was younger, and I am grateful to have met so many kind-hearted friends through pageantry where we can work together to provide service to our communities.

  • As one of Fairchild Radio's Sunshine Girls, I loved the opportunity to volunteer for Winter Warm Wave 2015 & 2016, where we, alongside Fairchild Radio staff and Little Sunshine, collected donation items from the public for the Salvation Army.
