  • [JULIANNE'S JEMS #3] - this is not something most people think about every day, but our existence, is the reason someone smiled today. Sometimes when I'm feeling down, or upset about myself, I like to remind myself of this. I hope you can as well because it is so true~ When we acknowledge our light, and everything that makes us special, it allows us to serve the world even better!

  • [JULIANNE'S JOURNEY #3] - It was such a unique and memorable experience to celebrate my 20th birthday away from home! This was a very fun day because my friend and I decided to from Denmark to Sweden for a day trip! Now how is this possible you may ask? Well, in fact there is a train that connects Copenhagen in Denmark, and Malmo in Sweden, that takes only 30 minutes! Honestly, one reason why I love Europe is because you can go from one city to another in just a day! In Sweden, my friend and I went to a lovely cafe, and had a HUGE lunch at Ikea! Then in the evening I had a celebration with many of my exchange friends~ It was a day to remember for sure!

  • [JUST JULIANNE #2] - A few years ago, I remember looking at my shoe closet, and it was absolutely FULL of shoes that I didn't even wear anymore. I did some research to see if there was anywhere I could donate these shoes, which is how I found the social enterprise called 'Soles4Souls'. Their mission is to empower entrepreneurs in developing countries to help them start their own business with used shoes. I really loved the cause, and decided to go big and organize a community shoe drive! After a few months of planning and gathering support, we collected over 900 pairs of shoes!! I'm so grateful for the community support and I'm excited to see the lives impacted~

  • [JULIANNE'S JOURNEY #2] - Being half-Korean, I love going back to Korea to visit my family, eat delicious food and soak in the beautiful culture. Below is a photo from a few years ago, where my sister and I wore traditional Korean garments called 'Hanbok'. Although it was a very hot day, we had a fun time roaming the rural city in our beautiful outfits! Plus, it felt like we were shooting a historical drama!

  • [JUST JULIANNE #1] - I am extremely passionate about leading a healthy life from the inside out. From a young age I was very aware of the benefits of eating healthy, moving my body and strengthening my mindset. Thus, coming into business school, I really wanted to join my school's wellness committee, called Sauder Health and Wellness (HeWe for short!). In my second year, I was appointed the co-chairperson of HeWe, and went on to organize a dozen events with my team! This included monthly vegetarian lunches for students, exam care packages, paint nights, meditation sessions and even yoga with bunnies! After all our hard work, our team was awarded the 'Service of the Year' award, which is given to the student committee with the largest impact at Sauder. My experience on this team was so enjoyable and I am grateful for the memories~

  • [JULIANNE'S JEMS #2] - sometimes, I wonder if there is a secret to success, and what these people have that I don't. But the truth is, getting ahead in your life (not comparing to others!) is all about getting started. If you have a dream, a passion, or even just a small interest in something, just start. Every action makes a difference, and will build up over time. I am also on this journey of action, and I'm here to cheer you on!

  • [JULIANNE'S JEMS #1] Recently I got to work with a great friend of mine who is a graphic designer, to help me create my dream personal brand- Julianne's Jems. Through these posts, I hope to share messages that come from my heart- 'jems' of insight and wisdom that can add light and groundedness into your everyday!

  • [JULIANNE'S JOURNEY #1] The best way to start off this segment is to talk about my exchange trip to Denmark in the fall of 2018. This trip was a pivotal experience, as it was the first time being away from home, and first time in Europe as well. I was one of 15 students from my school to partake in a tri-continental program to study 'Global Supply Chain and Logistics Management', and Denmark was the first stop! While I was there, I experienced the beauty of this small, yet richly-historic country. In the picture above, it shows me in Frederiksberg Park and Palace, which was just 5 minutes away from my dormitory! I would often take walks here to enjoy the serenity of the nature.

  • I have always loved writing as a form of self-expression. On these blog posts, I intent to share small snippets of my current life, as well as my past travels, endeavours and encouraging words. To keep everything organized, I will be having different captions for the different segments! [JULIANNE'S JOURNEY] will be posts regarding my travels in 26 countries! [JULIANNE'S JEMS] will be a collection of encouraging words that I hope can brighten your day. Finally [JUST JULIANNE] will be a combination of my current life endeavours and everything else!
